Out-of-print. 10 x 13 scarce hardcover book with 286 pages and 246 color illustrations and 133 b/w illustrations. The height of interior decoration circa 1973 including Valentino's London and Rome apartments, Karl Lagerfeld's Paris apartment, and Roger Vivier's Paris apartment. Every historic style imaginable (with a special nod to the Bauhaus) mixed together in an over-the-top elegant and at times psychedelic stew. Inspiring! And as fresh as the day it was published. The book is divided into three parts "la tradition mise au gout du jour," "le renouveau," and "l'avant-garde." These parts contain sections such as "structurer lčespace," "jouer des materiaux," "asocier les styles," "valoriser l'objet," and "accorder les coloris."
