A good perfect-bound softcover book with a chipped and worn dustwrapper designed by Lissitzky. This book was originally bound with the dust jacket attached to the binding. The DJ has been carefully removed from the binding and covered with an archival wrapper. Archival tape has ben used to reinforce the binding. A rare and fragile edition with design and typography by El Lissitzky.

9 x 11.5 softcover book with 164 pages and 260 b/w illustrations. This volume consists of Neutra's impressions of the state of the art of American modern architecture as viewed during his first visit to the states in the mid-twenties. Volume 2 of the three-volume series New Building in the World. Other editions in the series were Russland by El Lissitzky and Frankreich by Roger Ginburger.

Includes work by Edward Weston (photography), Bruce Goff, Frank Lloyd Wright, Richard Neutra, J. R. Davidson, Eric Gill, William Lescaze, K. Loenberg-Holm, R. M.Schindler and many others.
