Pardon my Italian: Starting in 1966, ³Octagon wants above all to be a review of furnishing, integrated from some pages of architecture, the figurative present time and culture, introduced from names whose level is always reason of interest and satisfaction for our readers². Financed from eight companies of the furniture field, Octagon had the courage of proclaim without ambiguity that would have spoken about furnishing ³not in cultural terms pure figured to you or, but of furnishing closely legacy to the problems of the industrial production². The cultural contents of the design testify to being a ³mirror of the times². To leaf through today the first numbers of the review means in fact to dip itself in a various world and the reflection on the objects can carry to us outside from the within of the planning in sense tightened, towards social, economic reflections or of recent history. But to celebrate the birth of Octagon means to remember the protagonists of that experience, beginning from ³staff² composed from Sergio Mazza, Giuliana Gramigna and art director Bob Noorda.
