7.75 x 9.5 softcover book with 180 pages and references for 423 lights, lamps, etc. with many color and b/w images. Exhibition catalogue form the 1985 Centre Georges Pompidou show that presented the history of lighting, including essays on architecture, origins, lighting in art, etc. The captions for the individual references include dates, manufacturers, designers, etc.-- very handy indeed, especially for identifying unusual lamp models. No knowledge of French is necessary to get this information out of this catalogue.
