From the web site for Maxxi: National Museum of 21st Century Arts: Vittorio De Feo (Naples, 1928 Rome, 2002), graduated with a degree in Architecture in Rome in 1955. He later taught at the IUAV in Venice, the "La Sapienza" Faculty of Engineering in Rome and is one of the founders of the new Tor Vergata Faculty, where he taught architectural composition. De Feo saw architecture as a 360° field of artistic research that involved painting, sculpture and literature . . . . De Feo is also the winner of the competition for the design of the new Italian Embassy in Berlin (1991). His architectural work was accompanied by an interest in historical research; De Feo is responsible for important research into Soviet architecture (URSS: Architettura 1917-1936, Roma 1963), a study of the work of Robert Venturi and the art and culture of the Baroque period.
